MET FOODS, Queens, NEW YORK
• THE PROJECT

Met Foods in an independently owned supermarket in the New York Metropolitan Area.  They leased a vacant former supermarket in the Electchester Shopping Center where we were renovating the shopping center (see Electchester Shopping Center).  We were retained after a competitive bid process, though the project scope was still being refined.  In order to bring the project into budget for the owner, we worked at value engineering the mechanicals systems and developing substitutions for certain architectural materials.  The projects overall scope included the installation of new doors and windows, all new mechanical systems including refrigeration systems for the supermarket refrigeration equipment, all new electrical distribution and lighting, roofing, and flooring.  While acting as a general contractor our experiences and strengths as a project manager and construction manager were significantly utilized.
